This is the original Loomis gag bit that I have sold for over 25 years. It
can be used for everything from starting colts to turning war horses. It is
excellent for getting the bend side -to - side in a horse as well as softening
the neck and poll. It is a great bit to teach a colt to gather. It can be used
to allow an over-bitted horse to place his head back to its natural position. It
is also used to soften one that is running through the bit. I go back to this
bit instead of going to longer shanks when a horse is getting too aggressive on
their bit. This bit very popular with barrel racers, reiners, cutters, and
endurance riders. The Gag, O-ring and a D-ring are offered in smooth and twisted
2 piece snaffle mouth piece. The gag bit is rigged and ready for your reins. The

2-inch gag, length or travel.

Horses that want to run through a bit will yield, esp. with the stainless rod
nosepiece. Horses seem to love this bit. It is very flexible and the mouthpieces
are shaped to fit so that it will not pinch the sides of their mouth and also
give tongue relief.
The sidepieces or cheeks are made out of 1080
steel, which is one step softer than spring steel, so they are light and tough.
This is an excellent bit for control on barrels, roping, etc.

This piece of equipment is designed to help you get the soft
side to side neck and soft poll without pulling your horse's head downward. It
allows the head to stay out where it belongs where he can balance his body.
It is adjustable by buttoning he martingale up and down the reins. The
martingale part can be removed to have a 7' barrel racing rein.

brown, white, green and speckled by combining any three colors. If you have a
special color, you can dye the white one.
